Butter (softened)

Fruit jam or preserves (berry or blueberry works well)

Sliced cheese (Swiss, Emmental, or similar)

Espresso or black coffee

Optional: milk or sugar for coffee

METHOD OF PREPARATION

Warm the croissant

Lightly toast or warm it in an oven or pan for 2–3 minutes until flaky and aromatic (optional but recommended).

Prepare the spreads

Place butter and jam into small bowls or ramekins for easy spreading.

Arrange the plate

Put the croissant on a plate.

Add cheese slices neatly on the side.

Place the butter and jam beside the croissant.

Make the coffee

Brew espresso or strong black coffee.

Serve hot, with milk or sugar if desired.
